Mr scary left with the camera, so I though dig out the back up camera and use that.  Ok after 2 days of fiddling about with it I finally worked out how to set the timer function.  Set up the shot and blink, the screen goes blank.  Ok thinks me, its the back up camera .... the batteries have gone - nope still wont even switch on with new batteries.
